In the year 2001, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy had a vision where he saw a vast community of brains. Out of the group, there were only four green ones which stood out from among the thousands which were yellow. The former are those which have been renewed and transformed by the Revolution of Excellence that is likewise the revolution of mentality.
Through the Spirit of Obedience, our old ways are transformed into new. Once we receive this new Spirit, we may be able to "...prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2). The past and all its insufficiencies will become irrelevant. The Word of God says that, "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Each of us bears a great responsibility as we move on to practice excellence in everything that we do -- we are accountable for all the talents, abilities and the skills that the Lord has given to us. All these are useless if they fall short of excellence.
Moreover, God is not contented with what is good, better or best, He wants us to be excellent above all things. Excellence is not the same with perfectionism because the latter leaves no room for improvement. Doing what is excellent means not settling on what is mediocre, rather, it is the consistent and persistent struggle to do what is superlative or finest at any given situation.
Proverbs 2:4-5 further tells us, "If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." If we will only seek wisdom as fervently as we seek after treasure, then we will come to fully understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. In order for us to achieve this, God requires that the seeking of it becomes our way of life. This will elevate us up to the ladder of the Revolution of Excellence!
Once we acquire wisdom, then excellence will surely follow. In God's Kingdom, a person becomes excellent when he undergoes training for discipleship. The goal of this training is to attain likeness to the Master, the Lord Jesus Christ,: Ephesians 4:13, "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."
A disciple lives his life under the authority of the Word of God, "...If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." (John 8:31). Constant study of the Holy Scriptures deepens man's relationship with the Lord. The Word of God endows him with wisdom, knowledge, as well as power - including the power to excel! When we are rooted in the Word of God, we become aware of God's will in our lives. We gain this sensibility, or this inner consciousness that will always struggle to be excellent in all things for the Glory of God.
When Solomon was newly appointed as King of Israel, the Lord came unto him through a vision (1 Kings 3:5). He saw the glory of God shine about Him, and He heard a voice saying, "Ask what I shall give thee." Above all things He chose wisdom and this pleased the Lord. God gave him "a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee" (1 Kings 3:12). And so, Solomon's wisdom excelled above any other prince and king of his time.
Solomon could have asked for riches and any material thing, but instead, he asked God to give him wisdom and understanding, so that he may be able to lead God's people. Here, we see a man of great example - a man who values wisdom, knowledge and understanding more than the material things that this world can offer.
As God had given Solomon riches and honor aside from wisdom, Knowledge and understanding, we are likewise promised of these only if we will seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first. (Matthew 6:33) These are also gifts from God.
Though we do not put much importance on material things, the Lord shall see our needs and shall bless us like Solomon as long as we follow God's will. What is more important is that we yearn to acquire wisdom, knowledge and understanding more than gold and any treasure in this world.
Proverbs 8:10 says, "Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold." Proverbs 8:11, on the other hand states, "For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it." We must therefore seek after wisdom, knowledge and understanding more than any material thing in this world.
In these last days, the Lord is building His Kingdom upon the hearts and minds of people. He has chosen us to be the building blocks that will complete the establishment of His Temple. This will only be accomplished if we, children of His Kingdom, have complete wisdom, knowledge and understanding that shall fulfill the Revolution of Excellence in our lives!
Excellence is the maximum exercise of gifts and abilities within the range of responsibilities given to us by God. Since we are considered as His disciples yearning for likeness to the Master, everything we do must be touched by His hand.
The Lord wants us, especially our minds, to be always active and sensitive to see and do what is excellent in the sight of God. This gives us a broad perception and a wide perspective of all things around us.
An excellent individual always strives to achieve not only the best but the most excellent out of any endeavor. He has a sharp perception about the things around him. He knows what is lacking and is quick to know if something is wrong. An excellent person, when put in a certain place shall become a light that brightens that place. This quality of excellence sets us above any other individual in this world. Being Christ's disciples, we are therefore called to achieve what is excellent and perfect before His very eyes.
God wants all of His children to be 'skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge' through the Revolution of Excellence - yet without pride! A worker in the spirit knows his place in God's Kingdom. By this Revolution, he becomes excellent but He acknowledges that God is the Giver of all wisdom! He gives the glory of his victories back to God!
The Revolution of Excellence will turn yellow brains into green! Wisdom is an endowment, a gift, and a trust from God! He who fears the Lord will find the wisdom and the knowledge that he needs. As branches, we must apply the principle of fruit-bearing in John 15 in all areas of our lives. We must bear the fruit of knowledge and wisdom because spiritual wisdom and knowledge will produce souls for God's Kingdom.
God gives wisdom to those who fear Him and forsake evil, "...Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding" (Job 28:28) Wisdom comes from having a relationship with God by obeying His Word. God will give us His wisdom when we ask for it.
James 1:5 says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him"
Proverbs 2:6 likewise states, "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding"
We used to wallow in the works of the flesh when we were yet in sin. But now, the Lord wants us to eradicate the 'poverty of mind' through the power of the Revolution of Excellence. The key that will unleash this in us is the fear of the Lord.
Proverbs 1:7 states that, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction" This likewise means doing what is pleasing in the sight of God.
Obedience to God's will is the beginning of all wisdom. As children of God, we cannot reconcile foolishness with the wisdom of our heavenly Father. Look at the way He created all of the heavens, the earth and the seas -- does it not embody all that is wise, excellent and perfect?
God who is full of light cannot have children whose hearts and minds are darkened by unrighteousness. If all the riches and wealth in this world belong to our Father, can He have children who wallow in poverty and debt? We cannot reconcile the disobedient spirit and the spirit of greed, which is the spirit of poverty, with all that is excellent in our Father in heaven. We need an explosion of knowledge and wisdom from God. We need a REVOLUTION! And the key to that revolution is the fear of the Lord!
Through the revolution of Spiritual Excellence, God's children shall be changed and made new. The spirit of ignorance, un-discernment and the darkness of mind shall be taken away from them. By having the fear of the Lord, wisdom, knowledge and understanding will come into their minds. Through repentance, they will have a truly keen and excellent born-again spirit.
Man's old corruptible ways shall be taken away. The society where we are now living will never be the same again. This entire nation shall be transformed into God's nation, where Jesus Christ rules as the Lord of lords and King of kings!
