What the Philippines needs: Unity and Righteous Leadership with the Mandate of God
Excerpts from Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy’s preaching at the Cebu International Convention Center, February 21, 2010
The fact that the Philippines' neighboring countries like Singapore, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam have left the Philippines behind is frustrating. Presidents have come and gone but, "we have not moved from square one, not even to square two or square number three," the Appointed Son of God, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy said in his message at the Cebu International Convention Center last Feb. 21, 2010. The only way for the Philippines to ‘take off’, he stressed, is for the country and its leaders to unite and for a righteous leader to arise, one who has faith and eyes that are focused on the Father's will. Below are excerpts from his preaching:
The Essence of Faith
We need to have faith. Like Simon Peter in the New Testament, "we have toiled all day and night and we did not catch anything". Simon Peter did everything he could so he could catch fish, but he did not catch any. He doubted when Jesus Christ told him to launch out into the deep but he followed and witnessed the miracle of a bountiful catch, when he walked in faith. It will also be when a political leader has faith to the Almighty Father that the country will prosper.
Give glory to God
Pastor Quiboloy cited Nebuchadnezzar, a ruler of Babylon. He attributed the beauty and grandeur of the kingdom to himself. This angered God and punished him. Nebuchadnezzar became insane. After seven years, he went back to sanity and learned the lesson of humility. He said, "The god of heaven is the God whom I should give glory because all power and majesty comes from him." Pastor said that political leaders who will be ushered into office should know that the Almighty Father is the hope of the country. When He entrusts power in our hands, He will bless us as long as we do not forget Him—He who has made us who we are.We must not forget the people who elected us. They are the reason we want to serve.
Seek the Kingdom of God First
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.” No matter how tough the circumstances that we face are, we must not worry because as long as we walk according to the Father's will, "our steps will be ordered by the Lord". Joseph’s brothers despised him because he was their father's favorite. They wanted to get rid of him that they sold Joseph away. He became a slave, he was thrown to prison. He underwent many sufferings in life. Misfortunes after misfortunes happened to him but he did not drift away from Almighty Father. So, the Father blessed him.
Unity, a Necessity
Pastor Quiboloy received a vision where he saw the heavens opened up and revealed a bronze cauldron with the words, "Strive to Rhyme for Unity."
According to Pastor, without unity, the Philippines will not take off. Right now, politicians running for government office are divided into different parties. When the election is finished, and the person most favored by the public gains office, divisiveness and differences in parties must be forgotten and focus should be diverted to supporting the president.
THE LAW OF LOVE
What is the Law of Love? The Law of love does not take away the freedom of choice. In fact it enhances our freedom of choice, where our independence from the jurisdiction of the Almighty
Father comes from. It is through the freedom of choice that we become real human beings created after His own image, and from it, emanates a danger—because what we might choose may not be according to the will of the Almighty Father and we become devils in the flesh. READ MORE»
THE SECRET OF GENUINE LOVE
The Holy Bible says that there are three that remain in the world today—faith, hope and love—but the greatest of which is love. We are here today because 2,000 years ago our lord God robed Himself in the flesh.
