ACQ-KBN: The Son Speaks
From Davao City to the World
PROFILE:
The Kingdom's television ministry has played an important part in building God's kingdom on earth. In an early revelation, Pastor Apollo saw a vision in which his image multiplied into millions of pieces and scattered all over the world. The Father revealed to Him early in his calling that through television he would be able to visit the homes of billions of people and preach the Word of God to them. Today, ACQ-KBN is being used by the Father, as a vehicle of invitation for the Ingathering revealed to our beloved Pastor in July 2004, where three million sons and daughters of the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ will gather in Davao City, the New Jerusalem. It is also through ACQ-KBN that Revelations 1:7 is fulfilled: "Behold, he cometh; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindred of the earth shall wail because of him." The whole earth can now see and hear the Appointed Son of God, the Father's audible voice, reveal the truth that all men should be saved.
"When I received a revelation from the Father 19 years ago, His will was for me to appear before local television and preach the gospel message of the kingdom. In my mind, I did not know how this could be possible. All I did was to walk by faith and follow whatever He asked me to do. We started with only 15 members and lived in the slums of Davao City, Philippines. God miraculously blessed us and within a short span of time, everyone had witnessed how this television ministry reached out not only to local viewers but to a global audience. Until the Father in heaven revealed that the power to rule the airwaves was given to me. Everything happened so quickly and I praise Him for His works." - Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy
It all started with one VHS camera and an inexperienced cameraman, who recorded Pastor Quiboloy's preaching during a concert crusade. The ministry did not have its own editing equipment then, so the tapes were sent to Manila, Philippines for editing. Some airtime was bought from a local television network, and in no time at all, The Hour of Truth, the first television program of Pastor Quiboloy, began airing once a week. Subsequently, two VHS recorders were acquired and they began editing their own footage. Pretty soon, the Hour of Truth began airing twice a week.
As the years went by, the ministry slowly acquired more high-end cameras and editing equipment. Though mostly bought second hand, these pieces of gear became the workhorses of the fledgling Production Department of the Kingdom.
Because of the tremendous response of the viewers, Pastor Quiboloy came out with a new program in 1995. It was a daily 30-minute television program called Powerline. Unlike the Gospel of the Kingdom, which showed Pastor Quiboloy preaching to huge crowds of people, Powerline was more personal. Through the Powerline, Pastor Quiboloy was able to speak to the viewers directly, and address doctrinal and faith issues. Powerline and Gospel of the Kingdom was soon aired daily, and became breakfast fare for millions of people all over the country. So popular were these shows that tapes were reproduced and sent all over the Philippines and outside the country, where they became the seeds through which the Kingdom's work would grow. Powerline and Gospel of the Kingdom were also aired in local TV stations in Los Angeles, Hawaii and Canada.
By July 2000, the Kingdom acquired its own 24-hour television channel, the Q-Channel, which was picked up by Sky Cable Davao, Tagum, General Santos, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu and Baguio City. New programs were created but Q-Channel was destined to be merely a training ground for a greater challenge that would face the ministry. An unexpected turn of events in mid-2002 led to the meeting of Pastor Quiboloy and the executives of a Malaysian Satellite Company. Through its satellite system footprint, the Kingdom's broadcast would be able to reach the whole Philippines, the Asia Pacific Rim and the United States. The Q-Channel metamorphosed into the Kingdom Broadcasting Network. Its maiden broadcast was in April 2003.
ACQ-KBN has already been picked by more than 40 cable operators in key cities throughout the country and is seen by roughly twenty million people all over the Philippines . And its impact on viewers is evidenced by the number of text messages received by the text handlers of KBN's KJC 2299, a text messaging service where viewers can send in their comments, questions and prayer requests and be answered in return. Thousands of viewers who are ask for advice and words of comfort or make inquiries about the Kingdom send messages daily.
The main programs of ACQ-KBN are Pastor Quiboloy's Gospel of the Kingdom, Powerline, Give Us This Day and Sounds of Worship, where he teaches the same message which he has been preaching for more than nineteen years now, which is the message of repentance.
June 2, 2004 marked another important step in the globalization of ACQ-KBN. Signing a contract with Globecast World TV, Pastor Quiboloy made ACQ-KBN accessible to the vast TV markets of the United States of America, Canada, South America and South Africa.
ACQ-KBN is beamed to the Globecast satellite dish in Singapore, and from Singapore by fiber optic technology to Culvert City, California. The signal is then beamed through the TELSTAR 5 Satellite System to the whole of the United States of America, Canada, South America, Africa and Asia.
ACQ-KBN is received by the millions of subscribers of WorldTV and The Filipino Channel in the North American Continent. Next on target for KBN on the Globecast WorldTV distribution platform will be all of Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Australia and New Zealand. KBN will be joining such broadcast giants on the Globecast WorldTV neighborhood as BBC, CNN, MTV, EuroNews, Bloomberg among others.
ACQ-KBN is the third network from the Philippines to go international and the only television station to broadcast live from Davao City to the world through Globecast World TV. In January 8, 2006, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy officially launched Sonshine FreeTV Channel 39, the newest free television channel in the Philippines which reaches the whole of Mega Manila with a power of 60,000 watts, making it one of the most powerful in the country. Before than Sonshine TV 43 Davao, whose signal reaches not just Davao City but surrounding provinces as well. The towers and transmitters for the rest of the Sonshine TV stations in other parts of the Philipines are currently being constructed and will soon be in operation.
Apart from its flourishing television ministry, the Kingdom likewise ventured into radio broadcasting and print media. Following the launching of the ministry's first radio station, the Kingdom Radio DXAQ 1404, seventeen more radio stations all over the country were inaugurated in January 28, 2005. In the same occasion, additional television stations covering the Philippines were likewise launched. The Kingdom has also ventured into internet radio; radio listeners can tune in to Pastor Apollo's preachings on sonshineradio.com.
Adding to the Kingdom's bimonthly publication, the GUIDE Magazine, is the PINAS Newspaper. The only weekly Filipino newspaper being circulated in 15 countries and 33 other destinations around the world, PINAS is more than just an ordinary periodical because it bears not just the current events in the Philippines but also the Word of God through the Sonspeak, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy's regular column.
All of this is a fulfillment of what God has revealed to Pastor Apollo many years ago when he dreamed of owning a milk factory whose products are being traded worldwide. The milk symbolizes the Words of God which are delivered to local and foreign households via ACQ-KBN, which symbolizes the milk factory where the Word of God is produced.
The ministry has fulfilled its mission of making the Gospel of the Kingdom available in every means possible. ACQ-KBN, working hand in hand with the Kingdom's radio broadcast, print media, and internet, serves as the spiritual air force that brings the message of spiritual revolution which is the message of repentance from Davao City, the New Jerusalem where it all began, to the rest of the world. Through the Kingdom-owned network, any geographical barrier has been conquered. Now, people from all walks of life and from different parts of the world hear the Word of God through the preaching of Pastor Quiboloy, being delivered twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week.
Matthew 24:14, stating, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come," is now being fulfilled in our midst today.
