How does one write a life story of a man like Pastor Apollo Quiboloy?
I can, but I will not say: he was born on such a time, year, and place, and so on and so on. Asking for the reader's patience, I will just set down everything spontaneously and it comes to mind.
"I cannot save, I'm just a human being", was said by Apollo Quiboloy, who is the subject of this report. I do not know if this report is called "historical". Let us just say this true story is written by someone who admires and believes him and who listens to what he is saying by way of television.
So, it is evident the man is not prideful. He continues, "we are only players of God's spiritual drama that is unfolding today before our very eyes". He never fails to thank his Father. Who is the "Father" that he is the Son of? The meaning of a son, in the spiritual sense (not the physical) is that the son has the father's spirit.
Apollo thanks his Father, Jesus Christ, because he has been born of the spirit of Jesus Christ. This is the new spirit that he was. And how did he acquire a new spirit? The old spirit had left him, by his own decision. When it, the old spirit, had gone out, then from God came the new spirit.
Jesus Christ who, formerly in His Jewish setting was the Son, - is not forever just the Son. He is now the Father, the King over the earth, and is casting out Satan (Lucifer). Two thousand years since the Jewish Time has passed and now, this is the Gentile setting. (Anyone who is not a Jew is a gentile).
And in this present gentile setting Jesus, who is God the Father, chose Apollo Quiboloy. To train him, adopt him, and to raise him up to do an important work under Jesus' direction. The man Apollo successfully passed and overcame the arduous trials, demonic attacks, during his time of training at Mount Tamayong .
He emerged from Tamayong to work for the ministry of the kingdom. Then, some years after, he was named a Son by his Father, and announced in year 2003, for all the world to know. And today - if Apollo will be asked, "are you Jesus Christ?" His answer is, "yes or no".
"No I am not Jesus Christ. I obey Him in everything. He has made me His Appointed Son and heir. He who is the King of kings, He will rule through me; I am His audible voice, and entrusted".
In other words, Pastor Apollo has won the right to speak his Father's words. (He said, "the word and the spirit are one".) For example, Pastor Apollo can say; "I am the way, the truth, and the life". Therefore, anyone who will write his life story would have to change their old world perspective. For example: it is not important to tell the story of what happened during the years before his appointment as the Son.
His real life began at the moment when he realized it was Jesus Christ calling him and not a devil. And then what followed was a complete acceptance of God's will. Meaning that he had abandoned everything that had gotten his attention before, in his former existence. He had no more will of his own.
So came the new birth; the "seed", the life of Jesus Christ was implanted in the body of Apollo. When the other seed was removed. (The other seed from the devil or Lucifer has been inherited by us down through the ages, and it was done to us, not through our fault or our doing. Also called "serpent seed").
To go back to what Pastor Apollo went through: then, upon being born again, he underwent a "furnace of affliction" over a period of five years. This happened for the purpose that he would grow to maturity. To become a Son and not anymore a child. Because of the future struggles that he would have to face, when he would be sent out to call the sleeping children of God to tell them the Kingdom of God is here, the New Jerusalem - a call to repentance.
Indeed, when one thinks about it, the task was, and is formidable. This is why he repeatedly says: "I am blowing the last trumpet!" Bible readers will know what he means. People should remember, he is not a proud man. He is doing the will of His Father - if he has to shout, he shouts. "We Filipinos," he once declared, "who are not Your people, nor are we Your nation, and who do not deserve to be called Children of God, yet now, the Philippines has become the holy land."
Lest I be misunderstood, it must be explained, the call of Pastor Apollo to the children of God is not only to the Philippine nation, but to every nation that will listen. The technical resources of the internet, radio, newspapers, magazines, and television (via satellite), are put to work for the appointed Son, (he does not have to lie or steal). What for? To make sure everyone will be able to hear his messages. He is the voice of God.
In the life as the Son, - this is the life story.
April 13, 2005 is the end of the Church Age (or Christian Age), and the beginning of the Kingdom Age or the Day of the Lord. April 13, 2005 , God's Kingdom - nation, with the kingship of the Pastor as decreed by the Christ the Father, was inaugurated. The religious and Christian denominations have become "ghosts" of the past.
They, these Christians, had pointed to the past looking for Jesus, like people who pointed to a mud-hole, saying, "the carabao was here!"
From the year 2003, was the time when the world's peoples, those who are God's children, began to receive the invitation. They are being invited, first in the spirit. This means, invited to place their loyalty to the Kingdom and when they do that, they are already in the city of the New Jerusalem. (The New Jerusalem is located in Davao City ).
Their spirits have flown, like eagles; and the "bodies will follow". Do not ask how; because nothing is impossible with God. Pastor Apollo advises the televiewers that they can approach, wherever they are, the Kingdom Local Congregations nearest to them.
This is the Pastor's purpose, saving souls. "There is still time", he announces, to "wake up" and "the doors are not closed, yet". The key, he tells the children of God, scattered over the earth, is simple: repent - this means surrender with the firm resolve of obedience no matter what. A poet Longfellow wrote: "for the soul is dead that slumbers and things are not what they seem."
The Pastor always shares the revelations of the mysteries of the kingdom as they came to him. He said, "Discipleship of Christ, this is a discipleship of person chosen to be with Him, invited to come to Him and to follow . these are the kingdom people like you and me. The Gospel of the Kingdom is the true gospel."
And: "God has given us a new mind, a new mentality . we have surrendered that old disobedience spirit. The greatest miracle is that we are implanted with a new spirit". He emphasized that the healing of the spirit is what will bring us closer to heaven. While physical healing of the body of sickness is not as effective as is the bringing back to life of the spirit.
Jesus Christ has already chosen a nation, which was not His nation or His people, He has chosen the Philippines - the Pastor honestly declares, that he does not know why. Perhaps it is because our people have poverty as our "way of life", and for most of us it is a struggle to find clothing, food, and shelter.
There is also struggle involved for a person to become a son or a daughter of God; it is "spiritual war". In his TV programs, the Pastor expresses by his voice the will and messages of Jesus Christ. He announces, reprimands, explains, exhorts, and invites his audience to "fly like eagles" - not first physically, but by spiritual transfer of loyalty, first. Then, on the proper time, "their bodies will follow".
It was a false doctrine, that God has only one Son. The Age of Man is now over, and today is The Day of The Lord. The Pastor calls out, he even shouts, the same message that Christ told the Jewish people. The Pastor is born of the Spirit. And is producing more of the same. He does not live for the past.
However, there are other ministries, spoken of in the Bible, which also have been entrusted under his care: of Moses, of Solomon, John the Baptist, the missionary Paul. Paul carried the gospel to the Gentiles. May the faith of the reader in the Holy Spirit be built up.
