Why did Jesus Christ come to this earth?
In these last days, the Son of God had once more manifested in a human body; this time in a Gentile body, not in a Jewish body
When we talk about the body of Christ, we can be talking about one, two or three physical bodies, or even one million physical bodies, but they will only be considered as one body because that body is going to have one head –the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
When we talk about the work of the Son of God, we cannot separate the story of creation and salvation, because that is where it all began – when Adam and Eve were deceived.
It was not in God’s plan that the serpent deceives the woman and the man He created. But when the devil declared war on God, and was defeated and thrown down upon this earth (Rev 12), he became Satan, the serpent who beguiled the first man and woman to disobey God. Because of Adam and Eve’s sin of disobedience, God’s plan for man and creation was temporarily destroyed. The seed of sin was injected into man. This is the work of the devil.
When Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of good and evil which was forbidden to them, they chose the evil side. If they had chosen to obey God and to fight the temptation that the devil was casting their way, they could have chosen, through their free will the good side, and there would have been no evil on this earth. If ever there was evil, it would always be subjugated by the good. However, the opposite happened.
As their progeny, we have all inherited that sin of disobedience. We cannot do what is good even when we want to because the evil in us always dominates the good. (Rom 7:15-24) Look at those New Year’s resolutions that people write every year. They never last more than a few weeks. People slide back again and again to that old, evil and sin-sick nature, the fallen character that is in them.
1 John 3:8 tells us, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Jesus Christ came to teach us the way out of sin, to introduce us to the right relationship with God, who is now the Father. So many religions think that they have that right relationship, but they are off target.
Look at what Paul said in Romans 10:2-4, “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”
What is the righteousness of God? If I put up a religion and define my own righteousness, I can deceive many people like so many religions and denominations do today. They have formulated their own constitution and by-laws and have defined salvation according to what pleases them. They tell the people, “Oh, you don’t have to do anything. Just raise your hands and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and you are saved!” That is their righteousness!
In God’s righteousness, you must first surrender that old disobedient spirit before you can be declared righteous. You must denounce it and then receive the new spirit that comes from God, which is the spirit of obedience to His perfect will. This is righteousness.
The Jews did not want that righteousness so they established their own righteousness by rituals, by temple worship, by ceremonial worship, like the bringing in of animals and the slaughtering of these on the altar of sacrifice. Little did they know that the temple worship or ceremonial services of the Old Testament were only a shadow of the things to come. All this was fulfilled in one man, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
I used to preach by the denominational base that I had before, which taught us the homiletics, the hermeneutics of preaching, the sciences of bible interpretation, and so forth. In that denomination, we tried to formulate nice topics that were pleasing to the ears of the people. I, for one, could really deliver a message that would please the hearing of the congregation, but at the end of the day, I would sit down and say, ‘Am I really doing the work of God? Am I doing something that would affect the spirit of man that would really bring him closer to God?’
Everybody would be clapping their hands after I preached, congratulating me for being such a good preacher but never did I hear anybody say, “That was a life-changing message! It changed my heart!”
When the Lord called me and trained me for five years, He said, “There is only one message that I want you to preach. Tell people to surrender. Tell people to repent. Tell people that the only way for them to come back to me is to denounce that spirit which they have inherited.” This is the reason why Jesus Christ came.
The Church of the Gentiles
Many people do not know that Jesus Christ came only for the Jews. Many do not know that the Gentiles were not in God’s plan. He did not come for all the people of the world. He came only for the lost sheep of Israel and we can read that in the Word of God.
Matthew 7:25-28: “For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.”
But the Israelites rejected what Jesus Christ was offering them. They said, “We don’t need you. We have the prophets. Who are you to teach us the way? Why are you making yourself a model for us to follow? We all know the way to God!”
They did not know that the Father in heaven wanted to complete salvation. They did not know that inside of them was the work of the devil. And because of their rejection, salvation was given to the Gentiles. Romans 9:25-26 tells us, “I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.”
The Apostle Paul
So God turned and chose a Gentile bride for His Son. Has someone been sent for us, from the Gentile race, to show us the way?
Yes. First, He gave us a special Apostle by the name of Paul.
Paul began his epistles with what he wrote in Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, and then followed the other books. We also see this offering of salvation in the Book of Acts, when Cornelius and his family were called. We learn that Peter the Apostle, who was used as an instrument for Cornelius house, was reluctant to go there because the Gentiles were unclean to the Jews. But in a vision, Peter saw a vessel descending from heaven to the earth. In it were all kinds of animals.
In Acts 10:13-15 we read: “And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.”
There are spiritual truths in that vision. It speaks about the Gentile Son now being included in salvation. Hosea 2:23 tells us, “And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.”
So now, we are included. And now, the model of being the child of God or a Son of God is me.
When Jesus Christ told the Jews, “Look at me, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man goes to the Father, but by me,” (John 14:6) He was introducing life in the spirit to the Jews. It was a new doctrine to them. It was a new wine that they could not take.
This is the bottom line of everything in salvation. As long as that disobedient spirit is in you, as long as you have not repented and surrendered to the complete will of God, you are an enemy of God. You belong to Satan.
God wants His true people to denounce that spirit. He has opened the access to them and said, “Come, you can do it!” The devil used to say, “You cannot do it.” But when Jesus Christ came, He said, “You can do it! I am the way.”
Since Jesus Christ’s resurrection and ascension, two thousand years have passed. I was appointed to be the first to accept the message of salvation and so I am called the firstborn son. This all that matters because among the Gentile people whom He has called through His Son will happen the fulfillment of the New Testament.
Through this ministry that boldly I preach, boldly I declare and boldly I reveal to people without fear or favor, whether they criticize me or persecute me, or say I am crazy or I ama false prophet, or a false Christ, He has produced a Son among the Gentiles.
I thank God that I have been chosen for that role. ‘Son of God’ means residence of the Father, representative of the Father, loyal to the Father. If you want to go to heaven, you have to go through me and I will tell you the truth. You will not see the Father unless you repent. I will not compromise that message.
My Father came here and embodied Himself in the Jewish body. Through that body He was telling the Jewish nation, “Become like this man, Jesus Christ, and you will be accepted as my child. He is your role model. Follow Him. Accept what He is teaching. Don’t rely on being the chosen race. Come back to me and receive that spirit of obedience to my will. The Son of God is your role model.’
So when you look at me, you don’t see me, what you see is the life that is in me, which is the life of Jesus Christ.
How will you know whom to follow when there are so many preachers everywhere? Look at the message. I am preaching the message of my Father.
Did Jesus Christ come to produce me?
Yes, and all that will become sons and daughters of God, like me. According to II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
This is all that matters to God. Furthermore, Galatians 6:15 tells us, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.” Jew or Gentile, it no longer matters. What the Father cares about is that you have become a new creature.
A new creature means this: the race of Adam, the old, sinful race of the first Adam–us–coming back to the Father and receiving a new spirit. You become God’s body. You become the son’s body. He is the head. You are the body. He is the spirit. You are the body. He dwells in you. We are the dwelling places of God.
God had nowhere to dwell for a long time! We were all the dwelling places of the devil! Romans 3:23 tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” But I thank God, that now, the chain of sin has been broken!
The Ascension of Jesus Christ
Most people do not know that when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, He sat on the throne as the Father. They only ascribe the title of ‘Son of God’ to Jesus Christ.
The sonship of Jesus Christ ended when He was crucified on the cross. The purpose of the sonship of Jesus Christ was to pay for the penalty of our sins so that the floodgates of salvation will be opened not only to the Jewish people but also to us. Through His blood, we have access to the throne of the Father. He called us all to give to us the sonship, to give to us the right to become children of God.
The Kingdom of God is here, like the least of the seeds in the field – when it was grown, it covered the entire earth. (Matt 13:31-32) The stone that was cut from the mountain without hands, rolled down to the city and grew up and covered the entire earth. (Dan 2:31-45)
The Kingdom of God will dominate this world and you will see the kingdom rule of the Father in heaven through His Son. He will implement the will of God upon this earth – in the environment, in our interpersonal-social relationships, in our worship and in every aspect of our lives.
The kingdom rule will happen and you will see it as a glorious rule! It is a rule with equity that even the lion and the lamb will lie together; a child can play with the cobra and the cobra will not bite the child. This is the Kingdom and the millennial reign of the Father in heaven through His Son!
