The Holy Bible says that there are three that remain in the world today—faith, hope and love—but the greatest of which is love. We are here today because 2,000 years ago our lord God robed Himself in the flesh.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
He came bringing the power of love, without which we would not be here today.
What is love?
Everything is going to pass away. Our lives, even our looks will pass away. Beauty is fleeting—for a while it is there but later on it is gone that when we face the mirror, we see a different us. In the same way that success, politics and power are short-lived. Only three will remain—faith, hope and the greatest of all, love.
Do you know that it is love that keeps the universe together? God made everything visible and invisible. It is only because of His love that all things in the universe do not collide and do not make the greatest destruction, which would annihilate human life.
There are billions of stars in the galaxies and there are billions of galaxies. We know one familiar galaxy which is the Milky Way Galaxy. Astronomers estimate that there are 500 billion stars on it and the smallest is one hundred times bigger than the planet earth.
Jesus Christ suffered because of His love for man
Jesus Christ came, in spite of all His creations. He came down to this Earth that is insignificant compared to all of the stars hanging in the universe. He came to this planet and became a man. He walked where we walk, He talked like we talk and He felt like we felt. At the end, He was rejected and crucified there in the cross of Calvary. He died in agony and ignominy; no one wanted to know about him. But when He was mocked and persecuted under the torturous Roman soldiers, He suffered so terribly. He suffered because of the four letter word; L-O-V-E. He loves you and me.
The Roman soldiers are experts in torturing prisoners. The cross is equivalent to the electric chair we have today. When the Lord God called me for this ministry, He separated me in two mountains in six years. The five years that I spent in Tamayong is like being separated in prison in that one-hectare lot. I did not know the reason for that, the only reason I know is that I want to serve Him; I want to follow His will no matter what. So, the Father put me into the furnace of affliction and there, He showed me the meaning of love.
One would not know the meaning of love without undergoing the bitterest pain in life. Similarly, one would not know the depth of poverty or the blessings of prosperity if one would have not gone to the depths of poverty. This is what Jesus Christ went through 2,000 years ago.
When Jesus Christ was arrested, they took him and put him before Pilate. Although Pilate knew that Jesus Christ was innocent, He was still sentenced to die because the former wanted to please the people so Pilate would remain as governor of then Judea.
When they took Jesus Christ and put Him on the scourging post, His hands were tied. He was lashed with ‘cat o’nine tails’ whip by the Romans until He was near death—his skin and flesh was torn away just to let Him live for a few seconds.
Jesus Christ received thirty-nine stripes on his back. This corresponds to what medical science cites as the 39 major diseases. He sacrificed so that we would be healed.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
After He was mercilessly whipped, He was mocked and spat upon. He was hit in the face. The Romans put a crown of thorns upon Him. With size much smaller than His head, it pierced His skin and blood covered His face that when we see Him, as Isaiah saw Him in the prophecy, there would be no beauty that we should desire Him. Isaiah 53:2-3, “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
Then Jesus Christ was brought to the Place of the Skulls, Golgotha, where He was crucified. His cross stood upright but slightly slanted forward. This was calculated as such so that the cross would not support the weight of your body. It will only be the nails in your hands and feet that would bear the weight of your body. Medical doctors say that a man crucified on that fashion would not die due to loss of blood but due to the irregular beating of the heart. Jesus Christ died of a broken heart, because of you and me.
Love is willing to sacrifice
There is a Biblical passage where two women went to Solomon. The two mothers both just gave birth. They lived in the same house and while they slept, one of the mothers laid upon her baby, which resulted to its death. The mother exchanged her dead child to the living child of the other mother without the latter’s knowledge. Upon realizing this, the other mother fought for her real child. The case reached Solomon, whose decision to settle the problem is to cut the baby in two. While the fake mother agreed with the King’s resolution, the real mother pleaded and decided to just give the baby away to keep it alive.
Like the real mother of the living baby who sought for Solomon’s wisdom, we should have love that is willing to sacrifice. When we love, we are willing to give away, we are willing to sacrifice, and we are willing to step aside for the good of all. When you are willing to do that, when you are willing to sacrifice, then, that is true love.
True love is like a mother’s love towards a child. It is like a child’s love towards a mother. When you are a mother and you love the child or someone, you do not think and do harm to them. You only think what is good for them. You only think of a better future for them, you only think of what you can give to them.
This is what I am praying—for our future leaders especially the next president, vice-president, senators, congressmen to have ‘true love’ for the country, that they have genuine love for our motherland. They will only think not of what they can get out of the country, rather, they will think of what they can contribute for the good of the nation first. If we have leaders with these characteristics, all the current maladies in the Philippines will be solved.
Our intelligence and educational attainment are nothing without love. In the same way that a vehicle cannot run even for a few minutes without oil. Oil is equivalent to love that lubricates us all. Though we have different functions, different talents and different departments in the government, it is the ‘oil’ that gels us together. These machineries, no matter how overused, will not malfunction as long as it has oil.
We, Filipinos should love one another. We are Filipinos before we are politicians. Right now, Philippine politics is divided into various parties. But despite this, we are still Filipinos and we should love one another though our stands on issues are different.
I am a fierce defendant of everything that I teach because I received them from the Almighty Father. Many would like to take me away from what I believe, so, I staunchly defend that, but after that I would say to you, “I love you, with the love of the lord”. Why? Even Jesus Christ taught us to “love one another that the world may know, you are my disciples”.
Love thy Enemy Jesus Christ went further than that. Blessings come from not only in loving those who love you, but even loving those who do not love you. The Lord Jesus said, “…love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
When the Almighty Father called me in this ministry as the Appointed Son of God, I have a hard time loving my enemies because I am just a human being like you but the Father taught me how in those five years of my spiritual training. ‘Loving enemies’ entails hidden blessings. When people persecute and do you no good but you do not get back at them, rather, you still love them and pray for them, you are heaping up treasures in heaven. Loving your enemy is like investing gold in heaven. The person who persecuted you, on the other hand, is indebted with you. He has incurred debts with you and this is equivalent to the universal law of the Father. When you are able to forgive because of love, then, you have the biggest currency in heaven. The same goes with obedience, praising the Father and sacrificing for Him.
Genuine love is when you love not only those who love you but when you go to the extent of loving and praying for your enemies who persecute you. Doing such translates to currency in heaven. That is why when you pray and ask the Father for something, you are trying to withdraw from heaven’s bank.
However, many prayers are unanswered because they do not have deposits in heaven. This happens when you take revenge on people who persecute you. While practicing the fruit of the Holy Spirit when people persecute you means a reward in heaven, getting back at those who have done you harm meant the opposite. The best thing that we can do when we are persecuted and we could not take it anymore, is to pray for them as accorded by the Bible. All these are translated into the word, love, which is equivalent to a twenty-four karat gold in heaven.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
“And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” During campaign period, we see political leaders being servants to the people. I hope that they remain ‘servants’ even after the elections. They should not lord over the people rather; they should remain servants to the people. That is why they are called ‘public servants’.
In Mark 9:35, Jesus Christ laid down His leadership principles to His disciples. He said, “…If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” Be humble and the Lord will lift you up. Luke 18:14, “…for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Leaders should have genuine love for Filipinos. If love is present in the governance of our country’s leaders, starting from the president down, before six years, the Philippines will truly e a blessed nation.
No to hatred and bitterness
The Father in heaven cannot bless us when there is hatred all around us. He cannot bless people that are full of hate and bitterness. Let us put all these behind. Let genuine love that stems from the Almighty Father, dominate within us.
The Philippines used to be richer and more developed than Bangladesh. However, right now, the situation is in reverse. Why? Because we lack love for our country
What is love?
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 tells, “(1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. (2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. (3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, [fn] but have not love, it profits me nothing. (4) Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; (5) does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; (6) does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; (7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (8) Love never fails. But whether [there are] prophecies, they will fail; whether [there are] tongues, they will cease; whether [there is] knowledge, it will vanish away. (9) For we know in part and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. (11) When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (12) For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. (13)And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these [is] love.”
Filipinos should ‘gel’ together
Philippine politics is divisive. Leaders, who have their own following, do not know that. That is why we are a divided nation all over. In the past, the nation is divided only in two parties: Liberal and the Nacionalista Party. These two, though, are huge, united blocks. Unlike now, where there are around 150 party lists and more parties sprouting, which has its own supporters.
If we will not ‘gel’ together, if we will not unite and work in love for the country, we will not function well, which may lead to the further partition of the Philippines. Right after the elections, my fellow countrymen, let us forget our parties, and let us become Filipinos again!
Let us rally behind whoever wins. Do not threat anyone committing any crime in the government. You know, I do not even trust our judiciary. But I do not say I lost trust in them, what I say is that I do not even trust in the courts of men.
I go beyond that because justice here on earth can be twisted. Where do we go then? To the Supreme Court of heaven. There, we will pray. You will see how the Almighty Father gives us the judgment that comes from Him. That is the universal law. That will not change.
Genuine Change through Spiritual Revolution
Spiritual revolution is a true revolution that happens within us. When we repent by surrendering our human will to the will of the Almighty Father, genuine change will occur in our lives. We will never go wrong as long as we follow the Almighty Father’s will. There will be no more division in the country once this kind of change also takes place in the lives of ninety-two million Filipinos.
The Father will bless us if we obediently follow His will. He created us and He knew all about us. That is why we have a manual. The Bible is our manual. But unlike others, this must not be read only, instead, it must be manifested in our lives.
Man operates through love
When we purchase anything, along with the product we bought comes its manual which explains how it is being operated. How are appliances destroyed sometimes? Because Filipinos are not used to reading its manual of instructions.
It is the same with human. God created human. How to operate a human being? Politics does not dictate that. It is the Almighty Father who orders that to us and our manual is the Holy Scriptures.
What did our parents offer us when we were small? It is love. When we were babies, did our parents pinch us when we cried? Our mothers did not do that. They took care of us with their tender, loving hands. When we cried, they carried us in their loving embrace. Our parents were awake all night so they could watch over us. What do we call that? That is love.
I feel sorry sometimes knowing that many Filipino mothers work abroad and take care of foreigners’ children. They are our ‘natural resources’ but they leave their children behind to earn money. With no one to watch over them, their children whom they left grow up lacking love until they become juvenile delinquents. They are our last natural resource. The foreigners had already taken over manning our country’s gold and silver, are we going to allow them to snatch our mothers away from us? We can no longer deny the fact that this is already happening but we should not lose hope because we still have the Almighty Father in our midst, who loves us all.
Last night, I received a revelation from the Almighty Father, where I was washing the walls of Dagupan. Someone asked me, “Why are you washing the walls of Dagupan?” The Father has a message which He wants to make known to you through His Son. The Almighty Father will wash away and heal all your diseases both physical and spiritual and He will bring you out from poverty. Love will reign in your lives.
We should not run out of the ‘oil of love’
My beloved citizens of our country, we are all creations of our Almighty Father. Before we can operate properly, individually or as a group or as a nation, we must check our oil level. What do you do when your vehicle is already running low of oil? You have it go through a checkup.
It seems that our oil level has reached its low point that is why our heads are getting hotter and the country’s situation is getting worse. Our oil of love must be increased. It does not matter if our love overflows. It is much better than to lack in love.
If we want to operate properly, there must be love. If this is so, then, the Almighty Father will bless us. He will shower upon us blessings we have not witnessed in our life before. Like a vehicle, we also have an engine—our heart. Love puts our hearts in good condition. If our engine, which is our heart is well, then, we can work as one people like a dump track, where you can load everything on it. It can carry it all. It can be used anywhere as long as its engine is in good working condition. Let us pray that this country will be baptized by the oil of love.
If we put resentment, discontentment, bitterness and hatred aside and let love reign over us instead, all illnesses will be gone. Being filled with hatred is like being imprisoned. When you practice what the Bible said, which is “love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”, you open up the prison house in your spirit and let the prisoners of hatred go. You will only feel the love of God in your heart, you commune with Him and you give Him everything.
When you become a loving person, the Father will use you and bless you with blessing you have never dreamt of in your life. I am saying this because I am your model. I have experienced that already. I am thankful to the Father that love is so broad and it encompasses the whole world.
Imagine this ministry that was born in Davao City, in the foothills of Mt. Apo in 1985. It is our 25th year anniversary this year. It is a year-long celebration of our anniversary. We thank the Father that we are able to reach and operate in 106 countries and 1185 cities. Different nationalities are now coming to the Philippines. They do not care if they are white, brown or yellow because of that love that has encompassed them. That loves binds us together as one. These people have now come in contact that love, which comes from a Filipino heart who is the Appointed Son of God.
